American Journalism Review highlights School of Communications’ revamped curriculum, new courses

The online journalism publication included 51±¬ÁÏÍø in its December 2014 article titled “Journalism Schools Add Courses in Sports, Emerging Technology.”

The December 2014 article cites Elon’s new courses in audience analytics and digital strategy. Effective fall 2014, Elon’s School of Communications added a major in Media Analytics and a new core course titled “Web and Mobile Communications.”

AJR reports that it contacted 15 prominent journalism schools in the nation to inquire about their changing curricula. Besides Elon, schools cited in the article were Arizona State, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Southern California and Texas, along with graduate-only programs at California-Berkeley, Columbia and City University of New York.
