Study USA launches Elon in Alaska

Starting this summer, Study USA will be featuring an 8-10 week program in Alaska that will feature an internship, a literature course and a 12-day adventure in the Kenai Peninsula. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis through March 15, however, students are strongly encouraged to apply soon for preferred internship sites.

Friday, Nov. 1 will be an information session in McEwen 011 at 4 p.m. This session will provide information about Study USA’s Elon in LA, Elon in NYC, Elon in DC and Elon in Alaska summer programs. If you intend to apply for one of these programs, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you have attended at least one of the information sessions.

Spend Winter Term in NYC studying wealth and poverty

This Winter the Study USA office is offering a Winter Term course in New York City titled GST 416-US Wealth and Poverty. Students will examine how economic globalization exacerbates the divide between the rich and the poor. Students will have the opportunity to tour Wall Street, the UN, and to work with a grassroots organization devoted to helping the less fortunate.

This course does count as an upper level GST course, which is required for all majors.
