KCSL: Volunteer at Cummings High School

Are you looking to volunteer in the last weeks of the semester? Volunteering at Cummings High School may be just what you’re looking for.

Cummings High School in Burlington seeks volunteers for its tutoring program. Tutoring is available after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 p.m. and anytime during the school day.

Two interest meetings will be held for anyone seeking more information…

-Tuesday, April 6 at 9:30 p.m. in Moseley 230

-Wednesday, April 7 at 8 p.m. in Moseley 230

Tutors are needed for Cummings High School in Burlington, NC.

Tutoring is available during the school day from 8:20 to 3:15 or after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30. Tutoring in all subject areas is needed and would be very beneficial for the students!

Do you have free time in your class schedule? Are you interested in tutoring high school students in need? One hour a week is the minimum, there are numerous options for classes and times. Cummings High School desperately needs volunteers in any subject. Please email chs@elon.edu with any questions or if you would like to volunteer!

A Senior at Cummings High is in need of a college student to be her mentor for a senior project. She is researching “How to improve literacy in small children” and would prefer someone with interest in this or an English/English Ed major. Please contact chs@elon.edu if you are interested!!

Accounting tutor needed

Cummings High School has an immediate need for a tutor for a student that needs one-on-one attention during their accounting class. Two or three times per week 11:45-1:45 p.m., or sometime in between that time. The accounting is very basic: t-charts, credits, and debits. Please email chs@elon.edu if you are interested!

Cummings High School in Burlington is still in need of many tutors in all subject areas.

Tutoring is available during the school day any time between 8:20 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. After-school tutoring is on Wednesdays and Thursdays is from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Also, new tutoring opportunities at Saturday extension school run from 9 a.m. to noon.

Math Students: Cummings High School students need your help

With end of grade tests quickly approaching, Cummings High School is in desperate need of volunteers

to help tutor students in pre-algebra, algebra I, and algebra II. This is a great bunch of kids who need

some extra individual attention in order to better understand the material. We can be extremely flexible

regarding the time or day available for volunteering. If you interested in helping or would like more

information, please email me at chs@elon.edu. In addition, all service hours performed will be validated

through the Kernodle Center for Service Learning.
