The program, taught at Fidelity’s major IT technical center in the central North Carolina park, provides five months of professional development training to the company’s more than 300 new information technology hires each year.

This summer Powell presented two courses to 26 LEAP associates in the Software Engineering track. The first, a seven-day course, was titled “Java for OO Programmers and XML.” The second, taught over nearly six days, was called “Mastering the Spring Framework.”

Along with providing training for new Fidelity hires, the technical center continues to provide Elon students majoring in computing sciences with exceptional opportunities for paid summer internships and full-time positions through the LEAP training program.
