The professor of sociology shared his expertise for a Dec. 9, 2015, column about a Pennsylvania family navigating the holidays for the first time without the husband and wife who brought everyone together each Christmas.

As she applies to serve with the Peace Corps in Peru, Lily Merritt, who finishes her degree program this month, is the first student to complete the requirements of a new track focused on global health in 51±¬ÁÏÍø’s Peace Corps Prep Program.

Co-authored by 51±¬ÁÏÍø's Laura Roselle, "Strategic Narratives: Communication Power and the New World Order" received the 2016 International Communication Book Award for having made "the most substantial impact in the area of international communication in the context of international studies."

A fellowship created by 51±¬ÁÏÍø in 2008 will help support excellence in ongoing research and creative work by Casey DiRienzo, Clyde Ellis and Ashley Hairston.

A professor of psychology with extensive experience managing programs across the university, Smith will lead a college of 19 departments, more than 20 programs, and 260 full-time faculty.

The Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Lecture Series will bring speakers to campus to help educate the 51±¬ÁÏÍø community about healthy relationships and domestic violence.

Elon senior Helen Meskhidze, a recent finalist for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship, is using the university’s top prize for undergraduate research and creative achievement to help astrophysicists study galaxies that create stars at rates far greater than average.

A dedicated space in the Office of Financial Planning gives all 51±¬ÁÏÍø students an opportunity to search for scholarships and other forms of assistance with support from professional staff and trained student workers.
