Phoenix Free was founded in the fall of 2019 and has grown to five members over the last two years. The faculty in Pheonix Free offers substance abuse and mental health services, as well as planning social events and professional development for their members.

Student Body President Jack Corby gave his presidential report following the presentation. Under the report, Gabby Gutiérrez was appointed to the treasurer position for the Class of 2024. Corby gave an update to the Koury renovations plan and took opinions from the senate on the idea of integrated residential buildings, with classrooms and living spaces all in one building, as they are in consideration for the 2040 Elon project.

For new business, SGA passed two resolutions expressing sympathy for the passing of Jo Watts Williams, an Elon alumni and former professor, and Will Stoneman, an Elon first-year.

Jana Lynn Patterson gave updates on COVID-19, including positivity rates slowing this past week and that the university would update students on booster shot recommendations. The treasurer’s report with Carolina Penfield included a funding request for REI Groundwater training, a diversity, equity and Inclusion training that would be offered to Elon Organization leaders. The request failed in the senate over concerns regarding the marketing of the training and the online format. An amendment to the treasurer’s manual was passed so that the executive treasurer could review funding requests under $250, streamlining the funding request process.
