No Spanish skills are required, and help is needed in all subjects.

]]> Help Paint Burlington’s Hispanic Community Center on April 10 and 12 /u/news/2007/04/04/help-paint-burlingtons-hispanic-community-center-on-april-10-and-12/ Wed, 04 Apr 2007 20:56:00 +0000 /u/news/2007/04/04/help-paint-burlingtons-hispanic-community-center-on-april-10-and-12/ Tuesday, April 10,  and Thursday, April 12, we will be painting the back room of Centro la Comunidad in Burlington. The Center uses this room to hold ESL classes and tutoring, and we want to help improve its range of uses and make it more aesthetically pleasing.

This is an excellent opportunity for groups or individuals from Elon to contribute to the local Hispanic community, and all you have to do is paint! All materials will be provided at the Center, just make sure to bring work clothes.

The times are from 3 to 9 in the afternoon, and the sign-up sheet is in Elon’s Spanish Center (1st floor Carlton). Please contact myself (jallen4@elon.edu) or Lindsay Westerfield with any questions regarding directions or times.

Usually there’s a pretty decent number of students and faculty/staff who show up, but lately our numbers have been dwindling. We need more people, so show up if you can: you’ll have plenty of time to make it to a 1:20 class (that goes for students and professors). Thanks!
