]]> Volunteers Needed for Fourth Fridays Event /u/news/2013/05/23/volunteers-needed-for-fourth-fridays-event/ Thu, 23 May 2013 17:35:00 +0000 /u/news/2013/05/23/volunteers-needed-for-fourth-fridays-event/ The Burlington Downtown Corporation needs about 4-5 volunteers on Friday, May 24, 2013 from both 12 – 2 pm and 9 – 11 pm for set-up and tear-down. The work will be to help do some heavy lifting putting up and taking down a 30×50 tent in Downtown Burlington. 

The plan is to put the tent up around Noon on Friday and then the volunteers can hang around for the actual event if they would like. If not, the Dowtown Corporation would appreciate volunteers coming back to help take the tent back down. The event itself is from 5:00pm to 9:00pm.

They are expecting that it will not take two hours each to put up and take down the tent, but just in case, that’s what they have written down.

]]> KCSL – Special Olympics North Carolina Qualifiers /u/news/2011/08/31/kcsl-special-olympics-north-carolina-qualifiers/ Wed, 31 Aug 2011 18:33:00 +0000 /u/news/2011/08/31/kcsl-special-olympics-north-carolina-qualifiers/ The Special Olympics in Alamance County is looking for volunteers to help at the SONC Qualifiers. This event is for athletes to qualify for the state level competition in bocce, golf, and cycling.

The events are taking place at Southern High School (bocce), Ace Speedway (cycling), and Indian Valley Golf Course (golf).

The events will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011. Bocce will go from 8am – 4pm, cycling will go from 12pm – 4pm, and golf will take place from 1 pm – 7pm.

The agency is looking for 50 volunteers to help with bocce, 15 for cycling, and 10 for golf.
