A Fashion Affair: The 2011 Spring Fashion Show

A Fashion Affair, this year’s spring fashion show, will be held on Saturday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in McKinnon Hall. The show will highlight this season’s trends from several boutiques and major retailers.

Tickets are currently for sale for $5, and can be purchased…

The Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. present:

The Crimson Pearl Cocktail: A DevaSTating AKAsion!

The cocktail will take place in Oaks 212 on Feb. 11 beginning at 8 p.m. and go until midnight.

Tickets are $5 for singles and $8 for couples.

Tunnel of Oppression – April 28

The Diversity Emerging Education Program (D.E.E.P.) presents its Fourth Annual Tunnel of Oppression!

Join in on an interactive tour through the Greek Courts in an eye-opening experience that touches on various forms of oppression existing in society. Tours will begin at 6 p.m. in Loy Center (Greek Courts) and refreshments will also be served.

It will be much bigger and better this year with participation from SPARKS, Black Cultural Society, Alpha Chi Omega and Affinity!

Is it a part of southern pride or is it prejudice? Come out and share opinions with a series of Elon student panelists on Feb. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in the Commuter Lounge.

Difficult Dialogues: Three Religions, One Journey – Nov. 17

Join D.E.E.P. (Diversity Emerging Education Program) for a Difficult Dialogues discussion about the unique coexisting of three of the world’s major religions – Islam, Judaism, and Christianity – in the city of Jerusalem.

We will screen a documentary made by Duke students and their Interfaith center’s trip to Jerusalem and discuss the issues raised by their cohabitation.

Come meet the film makers, get a free DVD, and try for the giveaways!

Wednesday (10.07.09): “The Elon Challenge”
6 p.m. in front of Alamance
Come try our obstacle course through some of Elon’s most used buildings, but things are quite as easy as they may seem. Are you up for the challenge?

Thursday (10.08.09): “Difficult Dialogues: Comparing Experiences” Co-Sponsored with the Black Cultural Society
6:30 p.m. LaRose Digital Theatre
We are co-sponsoring a panel discussion with audience questions about the experience of minority students attending a predominantly white institution and those attending a historically black college or university. We will have representatives from five different schools! All students are encouraged to attend

Friday (10.09.09): “Org Kickball”
6 p.m. KOBC Field
We want to invite the organizations we want to work with closely throughout the year to a sort of get to know you game of old fashioned kickball! What better way to start off a working relationship? Please bring as many members to the game which is being held in the field behind KOBC at 6 pm. Please talk to your liaison with any questions.
