Multi-Generational Workplace for Supervisors – Jan. 16 /u/news/2015/01/08/multi-generational-workplace-for-supervisors-jan-16/ Thu, 08 Jan 2015 19:25:00 +0000 /u/news/2015/01/08/multi-generational-workplace-for-supervisors-jan-16/ Stephanie Davis will help supervisors to realize that “today, the typical workplace population includes five, very distinct generations. Each of these unique generations brings to the workplace a different set of work values, preferences for how, when and where to accomplish work activities, and views about what is important in life in general. These generational differences can often lead to misunderstandings, employee turnover, difficulty in attracting employees and gaining employee commitment. Understanding how to manage younger and older workers can make the workplace more productive. In this session we will look at who makes up each generation and discuss strategies for engaging and motivating our diverse workforce. We will also look at future trends in the workplace and discuss how to prepare for our next generation of leaders and workers.” A buffet lunch will be provided for those who .

ERG: Caregivers of the Elderly – Dec. 16 /u/news/2014/11/20/erg-caregivers-of-the-elderly-dec-16/ Thu, 20 Nov 2014 21:35:00 +0000 /u/news/2014/11/20/erg-caregivers-of-the-elderly-dec-16/ Caregiving can be one of the most rewarding and important things that a person can do. Caregiving is a demanding, often stressful and sometimes exhausting task. Many caregivers give out physically and become frustrated in the process of helping a loved one. The key is taking care of oneself while taking care of another.

With the holidays upon us, we felt that it would be nice to not have a special speaker this time. We would like to use this opportunity as a support group for everyone who can make the group.  Donna Lynn will help facilitate the support group. We would love people to come and share what has worked, what hasn’t worked, what you are dealing with now and how we can help each other as a group. A buffet lunch will be provided for those who .
