Faces of Homelessness Panel, April 17

As part of Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life is sponsoring “The Faces of Homelessness.”

Speakers from the National Coalition for the Homeless will share their experiences of homelessness and how communities can be better advocates for change.

The presentation will take place Tuesday night, April 17th at 7:00 pm in the LaRose Digital Theatre in the Koury Business Center.

EFFECT’s “The New F Word” tonight April 10

“The New ‘F’ Word” is an event designed to celebrate women, feminism, and equality at Elon. Students and faculty will express what feminism is to them through dance, art, readings, and brief explanations of their feminist awakenings. There will be refreshments following the event, as well as the opportunity to meet members of the rising organization EFFECT.

When: Tonight (10th) at 7:30 pm
Where: Isabella Cannon Room (Center for the Arts)

Artists/Dancers/Poets Needed for Celebration of Feminism

Are you a feminist and interested in sharing your passion for poetry or music or pottery?

The Women and Gender Studies minor and a group of feminist students are sponosoring a celebration of feminism entitled:
“The New ‘F’ Word: Celebrating Women, Feminism, and Equality.”

The event will take place on Tuesday, April 10th in the Isabella Cannon Room at 7:30pm and we are asking all interested feminist-minded students to participate!

If you would like to share a poem, piece of artwork, song, or other piece of art that you have created or has been meaningful to you please contact Rebecca Hewitt for more information.

We are also looking for speakers who are willing to talk about their journey to feminism and its meaning for their lives and scholarship.

Wild Spirit: Nature and Spirituality Discussions

Join a group of students to talk about the intersection of nature and spirituality in informal discussion groups.
Discussions will be held on four Tuesdays at 7:30pm: Feb 20, 27, Mar 6, 13.
Light refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend.

This event is sponsored by the Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life and will be held at the Truitt Center (across from the Tennis courts). Please email rhewitt@elon.edu for more information or to sign up.

Group to meet Feb. 15 to start feminist group on campus

A group of students interested in starting a feminist organization on campus will be meeting Thursday, Feb. 15 at 6:30pm outside of Octagon in Moseley.

We will be discussing T-shirts and our big event for this semester. Afterward, we will go together to the Ariel Levy talk in Whitley.
