A contingent from the Department of Sport and Event Management shared research on a variety of topics, including outdoor educational initiatives, first-year experience, facility management, and student leadership in collegiate recreation.

Fraser P. Seitel, author of “The Practice of Public Relations,” presented an Oct. 27 lecture, examining topics related to public relations, including industry misconceptions, expected skills and recent gaffes.

New York City-based freelancer Yana Paskova led an Oct. 22 presentation titled “Cuba in Transition,” which detailed her international work as well as her own upbringing in Europe.

Fourteen School of Communications alumni offered advice to current students about finding a job, succeeding on a professional level, and how their Elon experiences enhanced their careers.  

51±¬ÁÏÍø graduates Nicole Tolbert ’03 and Ryan Sweeney ’10 discussed their early career paths, how they established themselves in their respective fields, and the changing climate in media analytics.

While studying abroad in Prague last fall, 51±¬ÁÏÍø senior Liam Hall co-wrote and co-directed “TÅ™i Cíga,” an eight-minute short film gaining attention on the festival circuit, including the New Orleans Film Festival.
