The platform provides alumni, faculty, staff, parents and students with opportunities to engage in a central point for professional development opportunities as learners, mentors, and connectors.

Drew Adair ’18, shared his thoughts on the release of LifelongElon.com:

“I am thrilled for the launch of the Lifelong Elon program. As a recent graduate currently working for an Elon alumnus at a Fortune 200 company, I see the value of continued relationships from my Elon network each and every day. I look forward to leveraging LifelongElon’s mentorship program to not only grow as a professional, but help others grow as well. I firmly believe that this program embodies the idea that an Elon education expands beyond your four years on campus, and that the Elon community is one that will be with you for a lifetime.”

Engage as a Learner:

LifelongElon features an exclusive job board curated just for the Elon community. Whether members are applying or looking for talent, the LifelongElon job board will be the place to locate new job opportunities and potential hires.

Engage as a Mentor:

The platform will facilitate opportunities to find or offer mentorship so members can guide their careers and grow their professional networks. An easily navigated user directory will allow members to offer help to the greater Elon community.

Engage as a Connector:

Members can reconnect with fellow classmates while exploring a professional development events calendar, and stay connected with the Elon community by using filters like industry, location, class year and major.

Student Government Association to award students Acorn Fund prizes /u/news/2018/01/31/student-government-association-to-award-students-acorn-fund-prizes-3/ Wed, 31 Jan 2018 18:15:00 +0000 /u/news/2018/01/31/student-government-association-to-award-students-acorn-fund-prizes-3/ Announcement to all Elon students with entrepreneurial tendencies, and a desire to make a social impact within the community:

The Student Government Association has created the Acorn Fund. Two $4,500 prizes from the Fund are expected to be awarded on a yearly basis to help students’ ideas flourish.

The Acorn Fund is designated for 51±¬ÁÏÍø students to financially support an original, innovative, and feasible invention, a for-profit or nonprofit company/organization, or other initiatives with the potential for positive impact beyond the classroom.

While there are many mechanisms of monetary support for students interested in undergraduate research and implementing events for the student body, SGA felt there was a need to provide financial support to individuals pursuing other projects and ideas. Any 51±¬ÁÏÍø student, excluding those who are in their final semester, is eligible to apply for the Acorn Fund.

Interested applicants must attend an information session and workshop on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in Moseley 213.

For more information stop by the SGA office in Moseley 213, or look for the Student Government Association table at College Coffee!
