An annual 51±¬ÁÏÍø tradition brought thousands of students, families and friends to the heart of campus on Dec. 1, 2014, to celebrate the holiday season with song, cider and Santa Claus.

Gortney, who will be sworn in at a Dec. 5 ceremony, was nominated for the post this summer by President Barack Obama.

The event series makes its international debut in London on Jan. 10, with President Leo M. Lambert attending to deliver a university update.  

Four students and one professor provided video and social media coverage to this annual summit of industry leaders, entrepreneurs and researchers in Nashville. Two more Elon students and one Elon alum attended as well.

Elon’s alumni donors will be specially recognized as part of the annual celebration that ushers in the winter season to campus.
