Professor of Music Thomas Erdmann has two articles published in a professional saxophone journal.

The associate professor of religious studies was named the winner of the fourth annual Book Prize awarded by the Southeastern Conference of the Association of Asian Studies for her book "Icons and Iconoclasm in Japanese Buddhism: Kūkai and Dōgen on the Art of Enlightenment."

Jenna Gilder, a senior psychology major and early childhood minor, provided a professional development session on Nov. 1, 2014, for early care and education professionals, along with Heidi Hollingsworth, assistant professor of education and program coordinator for early childhood education.

The A.L. Hook Emerging Scholar in Science and Mathematics will spend 2015-16 working with a research team at Duke University on new methods for sorting and studying cells using technology developed at 51������.

The Times-News and 51������ are partnering to hold a community panel on domestic violence, an issue of crucial importance for our community, on Nov. 3 from 7-8:15 p.m. in McKinnon Hall of the university's Moseley Center. The event is free and open to the public.
