Elon Law professor Scott Gaylord published a column in the Greensboro News and Record on May 15 detailing concerns with proposed legislation to change North Carolina's method of judicial selection. His research on the low number of cases being decided in recent years by the North Carolina Supreme Court was highlighted in the 2010 Annual Report of The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies and in the May 6, 2011 edition of North Carolina Lawyers Weekly.

He also spoke about the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement on January 7 at the Association of American Law Schools annual meeting in Washington, DC.

Scott Gaylord analyzes Constitutional Law issues in news interviews across the country

In December and January, Elon Law Professor Scott Gaylord explored First Amendment issues in radio and television news interviews across the country, including an interview on WUNC's The State of Things about free speech and license plates. He also authored the article, "Government Speech and North Carolina's 'Choose Life' License Plate," published Dec. 21 by Jurist, the web-based legal news service.
