The North Carolina Local News Workshop, housed at Elon’s School of Communications, will champion new approaches to providing reliable, high-quality journalism and information for NC residents and offer a base of support for organizations and individuals working to reinvent and sustain local news.

Elon alumnus and Trustee Dr. William N.P. Herbert ’68 and wife Marsha Herbert, of Charlottesville, Virginia, are among the donors making major gifts to the Elon LEADS Campaign to support the university’s planned Innovation Quad.

Martin, an Elon alumnus and parent from Tinton Falls, New Jersey, will lead the second year of the campaign’s three-year public phase.

The generous gift by John Sadler ’81 P’19 ’20 and his wife, Miriam P’19 ’20, will establish an Elon Engagement Scholarship and honor their sons and one of Elon’s most beloved staff members. Their gift is part of the Elon LEADS Campaign.

A $100,000 gift from Sam Hunt IV and Krista Hunt supports the first phase of a bold project that will advance the university’s engineering and STEM programs. This gift is part of the Elon LEADS Campaign.
