Elaine R. Jones, who served as the first woman president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) from 1993 to 2004 and championed a number of groundbreaking civil rights cases over a career spanning three decades, will deliver the keynote address at 51±¬ÁÏÍø School of Law’s second annual Diversity Day, presented in partnership with DiscoverLaw.org, Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009.

Philip A. Craft has been named director of communications for 51±¬ÁÏÍø School of Law. He joins Elon Law after serving seven years as deputy chief of staff and press secretary for U.S. Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (N.Y.) and three years as director of communications and marketing for City Parks Foundation in New York City.

Woodlief publishes N.C. treatise supplements

Associate dean and associate professor of law Alan Woodlief recently authored annual supplements to two North Carolina treatises, Shuford North Carolina Civil Practice and Procedure and North Carolina Law of Damages.
