David S. Levine, Elon Law’s Jennings Professor and Emerging Scholar, warns in a new journal article that both companies are using amorphous confidentiality and privacy claims to withhold important information about their products, making it nearly impossible to hold public debates about accountability and safety.  

Five graduates of 51±¬ÁÏÍø School of Law were among 16 attorneys selected for the North Carolina Bar Association's Leadership Academy, a program designed to "help young lawyers become more effective leaders in their communities."

Among medium-sized colleges and universities, Elon ranked No. 16 for the number of Peace Corps volunteers it produced in 2017. Last year, Elon Law launched a new fellows program to help returned Peace Corps volunteers become lawyers. 

The longtime associate dean for experiential education and leadership stepped down from Elon Law in January after joining The Citadel in South Carolina as assistant provost for leadership and department head of Leadership Studies.

An article by Associate Professor Andy Haile in a forthcoming issue of the University of Richmond Law Review points to the 1993 Religious Freedom Restoration Act as a possible defense for conscientious objectors who refuse to serve in some, but not all, wars.

Several student groups have organized programs from Feb. 19-24 to showcase the impact and importance of diversity in the legal profession.

Representatives from Elon Law will be in Charlotte on Saturday, February 24, for the Mecklenburg County Bar's 12th annual program "designed to encourage diverse students to explore a career in the legal profession."

Abby Deese, a reference librarian at 51±¬ÁÏÍø School of Law, travels to Illinois in April for professional development and networking opportunities at the 2018 American Association of Law Librarians Leadership Academy.
