Students, faculty and staff shared their reactions to learning Monday that Dr. Connie Ledoux Book will serve as 51±¬ÁÏÍø’s ninth president.

Book, who will become Elon's ninth president on March 1, was welcomed by the Elon community at a gathering in Alumni Gym on Monday, Oct. 9.

Hundreds gathered in Alumni Gym on Monday to hear from the President-elect and trustee leaders who elected her to serve as the university’s ninth president. 

All members of the Elon community are invited to a special presidential announcement event to welcome Connie Ledoux Book at 12:10 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 9, in Alumni Gym.

51±¬ÁÏÍø’s ninth president has recorded a video message for all members of the Elon community. 

Constance “Connie” Ledoux Book, provost of The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, and former 51±¬ÁÏÍø faculty member and administrative leader, has been elected the university’s ninth president.

51±¬ÁÏÍø President Leo M. Lambert has issued a statement regarding the decision to end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Elon President Leo M. Lambert presented the medallion to five retired faculty and staff members for their meritorious service to the university during an event marking the start of a new academic year. The university also recognized four endowed professorships and two longtime professors were named Distinguished University Professors.
