In the most recent edition of the Elon Journal, seven student researchers conducted an expansive look into a variety of media-related topics, including geopolitics and gender.

The third annual event returned Nov. 11 with an in-person panel discussion featuring three prominent female executives in leadership roles with the Atlanta Hawks, Fanatics and the North Carolina Courage.

The senior vice president of communications for Madison Square Garden Sports was recognized Nov. 4 during the School of Communications’ Homecoming festivities.

The assistant professor of sport management and six students volunteered at the Great Golf Getaway, a charity event hosted on Oct. 9 by the Elon PA Student Society.

Led by faculty members David Bockino and Colin Donohue, 25 first-year Fellows and two senior Fellows traveled to Atlanta Oct. 21-22 to visit several well-known companies and sports venues, including Delta Air Lines headquarters, Jackson Spalding PR agency, Mercedes-Benz Stadium and State Farm Arena.

The Oct. 3 event, hosted by the Sport Management Department, offered a glimpse into how students spent their summer months gaining real-world experience in the sport industry.

The sport management and marketing double major served as a key figure with the Aug. 27 celebratory event to commemorate the MLB franchise’s 60th anniversary season.

The associate professor of sport management and Elon alumna co-wrote “Jumping Through Hoops: Differences in Marketing Men’s and Women’s Basketball on Twitter,” an article recently published in the Journal of Contemporary Athletics.

In conjunction with the Student Professional Development Center, the School of Communications hosted the COMM/SPT Meet & Greet on Sept. 20, attracting a dozen organizations – both in-person and virtually – representing a variety of communications and sports-related industries.
