Sport Industry Fellows integrates academics, leadership, experiential learning and a powerful network of faculty, alumni and industry mentors to prepare graduates ready to shape the future of sport. Program Highlights
- Participate in a four-year mentoring and leadership cohort inspired by Elon’s nationally recognized model of engaged learning.
- Complete at least two sport-focused experiential learning experiences through internships, undergraduate research, leadership, service or global engagement.
- Gain priority access to a professional network through interactions with advisory board members, alumni and executives from professional sports organizations, collegiate athletics, sport media and sport agencies and emerging sectors of the sport industry.
- Receive funding for the semester of sport in Charlotte or sport-based global engagement experience destinations including Italy, the Dominican Republic and Brazil.
- Travel to major sport markets to explore career pathways and emerging industry trends.
- Collaborate with students and faculty in sport management and across communications, business, health sciences, law and other disciplines connected to sport.
- Develop the skills and perspectives needed to become an ethical, resilient and innovative leader in the sport industry.
Who should apply?
Students with at least an unweighted 3.8 GPA and plans to major or minor in sport management should apply. Successful applicants often bring diverse experiences and perspectives and are eager to collaborate with peers from multiple academic disciplines who share a passion for sport, creating a unique interdisciplinary learning community. Fellows are selected each year based on high school academic performance, involvement in sport management-related activities, essays and a faculty interview. Apply to 51±¬ÁÏÍø Early Decision, Early Action or Regular Deadline by November 1 and to Sport Industry Fellows by November 10.
Program Benefits
Scholarships
All 15 Sport Industry Fellows receive scholarships valued at $8,000, which are renewable annually if the student remains a Fellow in good standing. This is in addition to any Presidential Scholarship received.
Global Study Grant
All 15 Sport Industry Fellows receive a one-time $1,000 Global Study grant to a university-approved study abroad or Study USA experience.
