Funds for Stipend

Funds given directly to an applicant, included in one or more paychecks. Counted as income and subject to taxes. These include Faculty Research & Development Summer Fellowships; Faculty Research & Development Hultquist Funds; Summer Research (Through Deans’ Offices); New Faculty Summer Research Funds; Community-Based Learning Research Scholar; Center for Writing Excellence Grants; and Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning Grants.

Funds for Replacement

Funds given to a school or department to replace an applicant for a course or a semester while the faculty member is using course reassigned time. These include ±Ê°ù´Ç²ú²¹³Ù¾±´Ç²Ô²¹°ù²âÌýFaculty Reassigned Time (By Departments, Through Deans’ Offices); Faculty Reassigned Time (From Deans); Faculty Research & Development Sabbaticals; New Faculty Teaching Sabbaticals; Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning Scholars; and Post-Probationary Faculty Development Review Committee reassigned times.

Funds for Reimbursement

Funds given to an applicant for expenses for travel, equipment, supplies, registration, etc. These generally require a receipt or an invoice to document purchase/service before the reimbursement or payment is made. These include Deans’ Travel Funds; Deans’ Professional Development Funds; Faculty Research & Development Funds for Research, Development, or Advanced Study; Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning Travel Funds; Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning Grants; Academic Technology Committee (ATC) Grants; and Summer Research Funds Through Deans’ Offices.
