Räisänen and Butler-Storsved publish in Building Healthy Academic Communities

Anu Räisänen, director of HealthEU initiatives and assistant professor and Lynda Butler-Storsved, associate teaching professor of wellness, recently published an educational brief in the Building Healthy Academic Communities Journal (BHAC) on the application of a collaboration framework in well-being work.

Anu Räisänen, director of HealthEU initiatives and Lynda Butler-Storsved, associate teaching professor of wellness, recently published an educational brief in the Building Healthy Academic Communities Journal (BHAC). Their work, entitled “ discusses the application of a collaboration framework to advance well-being initiatives in higher education settings.

The collaboration framework explored in this article was originally developed for a knowledge-based product development firm by Barker Scott and Manning. The framework outlines three key components of collaboration: collaborative work, relationships, and behaviors.

This scholarly work can be applied through HealthEU initiatives to advance Elon’s strategic goal of cultivating a culture of health and well-being. One of the HealthEU initiatives Räisänen and Butler-Storsved, in collaboration with the Student Health and Wellness Coaching Research Coalition, are currently building is developing a peer health and wellness coaching program for Elon students. This project, supported by Elon Innovates, will create campus work opportunities for students who have completed the Health and Wellness Coach badge program.
